Bethlehem residential strip in East Hills near Freedom HS sold for $1.2M

A five-unit residential property in Bethlehem near Freedom High School has been sold for $1.15 million, according to Northampton County property records.

The deal is the second seven-figure multi-unit transaction in the city's East Hills neighborhood in two months.

The 2076 Johnston Drive building has four townhouse units and a fifth residence at one end that is larger, with a garage. Based on five units, the price comes out to $230,000 per dwelling.

The county recorded the purchase by Anagha, a limited liability corporation, on April 1. The address of Anagha LLC is listed as a private home in Lower Macungie Township.

The Johnston Drive property changed hands in 2023 for $840,000, according to county property records. The building went up in 1960.

The seller was listed as Lehigh Valley Private Equity Fund, which recently purchased the Tanglewood Apartments on Chester Road, just to the north of the Johnston Drive property.

The Tanglewood sale was listed by the county on Feb. 4 as $1.4 million. Tejas Gosai of Lehigh Valley Private Equity Fund said the total cost of purchase was about $1.5 million. The Tanglewood property is across the street from Freedom High School and close to East Hills Middle School.

Both properties are near schools and major roads. The Johnston Drive property is at the entrance to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
