Tweetables:

“Take inventory of what you have. If you're already $1.5 million plus and you're making a 6-figure, $200,000 and above, you're an accredited investor. It might be better for you just to go on to passive side and start from there and do the math for yourself.” –Lane Kawaoka

“I would probably argue that in my early days, one out of five deals just fail because of the people who are running it.” –Lane Kawaoka

“Why the heck are the institutions doing class A and they want to stay away from these class C, B products? Right? There's a reason why they do that. Of course, they don't want to get their hands dirty with that type of stuff and operation. But they also invest in secondary and primary markets for the lower cap rates. And the lower cap rates mean less returns but it also means a lot more stability.” –Lane Kawaoka

About Lane Kawaoka

Lane Kawaoka is a seasoned real estate investor with a diverse background. After spending 12 years as a Licensed Professional (PE) Civil/Industrial Engineer, Lane made the bold decision to dedicate his full attention to investing and helping others in his Passive Investor Accelerator & Mastermind.

Lane's investing journey began in 2009 when he purchased his first property in rainy Seattle. As a self-proclaimed "ramen-eating cheapo," Lane quickly understood the difference between 'Cashflow Investing' and 'Appreciation Investing.' Motivated by this realization, he expanded his portfolio to include 11 single-family rentals in Birmingham, Atlanta, Indianapolis, and Pennsylvania.

Today, Lane focuses on syndications that invest in Class C\&B Multi-Family Apartments, RV Parks, mobile homes, and assisted living facilities. His mission is to provide regular individuals with access to good deals that were once exclusive to the wealthy. The passive income generated from these investments allowed Lane to return to his home state of Hawaii, where he enjoys a quality lifestyle and the ability to bike to work. Eventually, Lane was able to leave his day job and upgrade from an e-bike to a Mercedes.

Driven by his frustration with deceptive real estate education programs, Lane created a free website to help hard-working professionals and the shrinking middle class. Through this platform, he aims to challenge the traditional Wall Street dogma of wealth-building and offer alternative investment options to the "garbage" investments commonly found in 401Ks and mutual funds. Lane provides free investing education, podcasts, networking opportunities, and access to investment opportunities not typically available to the general public.
